What are you putting on your skin?

I make balms from rendered beef tallow quite often, but this is the first time I've made WHIPPED tallow balm successfully! It is so satisfying- beautiful in color and texture! The main reason I started making my own skin care is because of the nasty chemicals in most lotions. The skin is super absorbent and a lot of what goes onto your skin gets into your bloodstream (anyone who uses hormonal patches and creams knows this quite well!) Tallow is easily absorbed into the skin because it closely mimics the composition of your skin's natural oil (sebum), which also makes it super hydrating. It contains essential fatty acids, along with vitamins A, D, E, K. Tallow, coconut oil, and castor oil are all antimicrobial, so good skin protection. Castor oil also has many other benefits for the skin, - this was the first time I have added it into my tallow balm, and it worked quite well!
